Referee Registration

Referee Registration is something that each match official has to do each season. The season runs each year from the 1st June to 31st May and as of the 31st May your registration for the season finishing expires.

As of the 1st June each year the registration window opens and before you can officiate in affiliated football you will be required to register for the season with your Parent County FA and you can do this via the Referee Registration portal that can be accessed using the following link;

Registration Requirements

In order to register as a match official, you are required to have the following in place at least 24 hours before starting the registration process;

An in date safeguarding qualification

This must be the Safeguarding Children course if you are over the age of 16. If you are over the age of 16 and your safeguarding children course has expired then you will be required to complete the Safeguarding Children Re-Certification course.

If you are under the age of 16 you will be required to complete the Safeguarding for All course.

Details of the courses can be found below;

DBS Check

For match officials that wish to officiate in youth football, you must have an in date DBS check that is valid at the time of your registration. Please note that upon expiry you will be required to renew this DBS and if you fail to do so, you may have your ability to officiate youth football removed.

You can complete a DBS check online by following the guidance on our website here - https://www.amateur-fa.com/referee/referee-safeguarding
