How can I appeal a red card dismissal?

Modified on Thu, 27 Jul 2023 at 03:43 PM

There are two ways grounds on which to appeal a red card - mistaken identity and wrongful dismissal.

You have 2 working days to submit an appeal through the Whole Game System, for example, if you are sent off on a Saturday or Sunday, you have until Tuesday night to confirm your intention to appeal.

Time limits are strict and late claims will NOT be considered.
You will then have a further 2 days to submit any evidence to Amateur FA in support of the appeal. The appeal will then be heard before the suspension begins, and the club will be informed of the result at the earliest opportunity.

Please note - a claim for wrongful dismissal is lodged for offences that result in a straight sending-off only - not for players dismissed for receiving (S7) two yellow cards or a player dismissed for (S6) offensive, insulting, or abusive language/gestures.
